New Delhi, Sept 11: President A P J Abdul Kalam's website registered
a record one crore hits on a single day on August 15.
There were 12 crore hits during august from all over the world on
www.presidentofindi a.nic.in, the President's Press Secretary S M
Khan said.
The website contains the President's messages, speeches, interaction
with students and scientists and special sections, on the garden and
events in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
It also features Kalam's replies to questions from students and
scientists, press releases and a section for the visually impaired,
who can download recordings of his voice.

A P J Abdul Kalam has set new trends in reaching out to the citizens
of the country. The official website of the President is undeniable
proof of his desire to interact with the people of the country.
The website started by the President, www.presidentofindi a.nic.in,
is fast gaining popularity among netizens. It provides a complete
profile of the first citizen of India giving visitors all details
about his life and his work. The website also provides visitors an
insight into the other side of the President by giving information
about the books he has written, his poetry, his quotations and his
songs.
Apart from giving basic information about Dr Kalam, the website also
provides visitors a chance to interact with the President. The
visitors can e-mail the President to which he himself replies. But a
message has been posted by the webmaster which states that, "It may
please be noted that the President sees the mails in sequence and
replies based on its contents regularly. Repeated e-mails on the
same subject do not reach the President's mail box." The website
features Dr Kalam's replies to questions from students and
scientists. It also has as section devoted to press releases, his
Parliament addresses, banquet speeches, and his lectures, both at
national and international events.
A separate section for the visually impaired has also been created,
from where recordings of his voice can be downloaded.
