It baffles me and I sincerely think
that it will really be a subject of research for the Assamese youth as to why we
write 'Sankaradeva' in English while we say say Sankardev (more correctly
Xongkordev) in Assamese. Is it because we sincerely think that the Assamese
language is not at par with the Sankkrit (correctly Songskrit) and other Indian
langauges? It is time we Assamese need to reflect what exactly we think of
ourselves. Is it possible that our self esteem is so poor that we have to
follow Songskrit and other regional language all the time sacrificing our
own?
Is that the real problem of the
Assamese?
