One latest development.Today on 13 September 2006, at afternoon, the chief Minster's office contacted me over phone and informed me in advance that Chief Minsiter had gone through my article and have decided to donate Rs 10 lacs for establishing Sankardev Chair in Delhi university bowing down to the public pressure generated by my Prantik article.The National Seminar in Delhi University would be organised by Guwahati based Srimanta Sankardev Antarjatik Pratisthan(Srimanta Sankardev International Foundation) jointly in collaboration with DU in November, where this Chair would also be formally declared open.Commemorating the occasion, 3(three) books would be published aand released by the Foundation in English on Sankardev----1) a Biography, 2) Compilation of Articles by world renowned personalities on Sankardev, 3) Collection of English translations of various literaryn works of Sankardev.It is also decided to declare a SANKARDEV INTERNATION FOUNDATION AWARD by the Foundation to be bestowed upon the people who played major significant roles in propagating the name of Sankardev rest of teh world outside Assam.A day long function would be held, where eminent speakers would present papers on Sankardev, Tarali Sarma---the national best singer would sing Borgeet, and Indira PP Bora would present a Satriya dance recital. and Disciples of kamalabari Satra would perform a Bhaona. Xachi paper writing by Sankardev and Sankari art would also be displayed in an exhibition on that occasion.All interested persons are hereby appealed to generously donate for the success of this noble venture.Money could be deposited/transferred to the Savings Bank Account no. 1498 at Punjab & Sind Bank, Rajgarh Branch, Guwahati-781003, which was oped by Srimanta Sankardev Antarjatik Pratisthan for this purpose.
