The last person to subdue afghanistan was Alexander the Great. The brits and the ruskies have tried since and have failed miserably. NATO knows this and is now reacting accordingly.
Brace yourselves for much more of the same
, Britain is the root scource of the problems in modern Afganistan. Check you history.
Britain, and its fellow Europeans were happy to send out their Navys and Armies and, later, Air Forces to dominate and steal from poorer, darker and less well armed and organized peoples the world over.
Then, having squandered the wealth and opportunity thus created after having seen first hand the horrors and inequities such policies and practicies created all over the world, the cowardly Europeans simply pulled up stakes and left whatever mess they (note - THEY) had created and left those 'former' colonies to their fate.
So, if its Afganistan - British problem, with Russian assistance. Middle East generally, and Palestine in particular, British & French problem with some assistance from Turkey. Africa - almost all European countries are guilty. Etc., etc. You get the picture you smug Europeans - if you care to see it.
You Europeans are not so clean - and you never did clean up the mess you made. Foregn aid will only buy so much absolution - but the memory lives on.
Some, facing up to ongoing commitments, others, merely facing up to the historical sin of their fathers and forfathers misdeeds, still seem somewhat willing to 'get involved' outside their borders, but only when it suits them and only when the price of doing so is acceptable.
