Good to know that you are all fired up to help Assamese. You contacted Rini-ji in UK seeking some contacts in Assam (but she was busy - like most immigrants in a new land) -- here Nayan-da (whom you contacted Nayanjyoti Medhi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, ) is based in Assam -why not contact him and then pay a visit to the land of your ancestors. Gandhi did not sit in UK or South Africa after his law degree etc - to take up the cause of Indians -he had to go there .
I am based in Washington DC and just an ordinary tutor of school students -so may not be able to assist you much. I am new to USA.
