Some might like to see the Oscar winning documentary by a guy who found his
true calling after losing US presidential elections by a whisker. I saw it
today at a new friend's place Evan (thru my Canada based Harvard classmate
Anisa's mother Amy - now in China) .
Was shocked to see that Lake Chad has dried up completely -one of teh biggest
in the world as has a landlocked sea i Central Asia.and how the glaciers from
Himalayas to Antartica to Greenand are melting . How polar bears are drowning
after swimming over 60 miles to fight a piece thick enough to rest on? I
remembered the black bear and the seals I saw in the wild in Vancouveer the
last outpost of Western civilization. . The black bear on the mountain seemed
as much of my neighbor as did the leopard I saw a couple of years ago up the
hills in India.
It seems highways are to be blamed as much is the penchent for
airconditioning in people's homes even in nice weather. Indian houses are
colder than US ones -- though it never freezes in most of India (in winters).
