Assam State Film Finance&Development Corporation is organising the annual
Assamese Film Festival in Kolkata at Nandan this time from 4th may till 7th
May..if u happen to there do drop in...and please inform if u know anybody in
Kolkata..
Festival of Films from Assam with special focus on Bodo Cinema
The inauguration ceremony is on 4th May 2007 at 4pm at Sisir Mancha. Hon'ble
CM Assam Sri Tarun Gogoi will inaugurate the festival. Other honoured guests
are Sri Gautam Bora, Minister Cultural Affairs, Sri Hagrama Mohilary, Chief,
BTC, and eminent film personality Smt.Sharmila Tagore, Chairperson, CBFC.
The opening film will be Dufang-ni-solo by Pinky Brahma Choudhury at Sisir
Mancha which will be followed by Jahnu Barua's Konikar Ramdhenu at Nandan II on
4th may 07.
The following films are going to be screened on 5th and 6th May at Nandan II.
Dinabandu - Munin Barua
Rape in the Virgin Forest- Jwangdao Bodosa
Wosobipo - Gautam Bora
Sarothi- Dr. Bhabendranath Saikia
Sayaram Gozoula -Phaylaw and Kamleswar
Nisiddha Nadi- Bidyut Chakravarty
ON 7th May screening of Sarothi and Wosobipo will be done at the Satyajit Ray
Film and Television Institute Kolkata which will be followed by an interaction
of students with film maker Gautam Bora.
Entry is free.
Please inform all your friends who are in Kolkata or may visit Kolkata during
that time.
