*Adoption of Fake Names and Titles for PRCs in Assam*
Misuse of PRCs (Permanent Residence Certificate) is taking place
in several parts of the State. It is known that, several migrants from other
states of India, Nepal, Bangladesh and even Tibet (in Bhalukpong near Tezpur
in Darrang district), are changing their titles to Brahma, Baruah, Deka,
Gogoi, Hazarika, Terong etc. for fake PRCs. They are adopting such titles to
mingle with the local people. The authorities should look into this.
