- I don't believe in : kill one and you are a murderer and a million and your are revolutionary. Perhaps >you believe in that.

Who am I to question your piety, Umesh?

But thoughtful people would not forget to consider HOW and WHY people become 'violent'. Those who do, do so at the risk of destroying their own credibility; like Assamnetters who prefer to forget HOW ULFA came into being and WHY.

Take a look at: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Gujjar_unrest_BJP_to_defer_conclave/articleshow/2097036.cms

And don't forget to read all the way through. You might pay attention to the paragraph:

"She should have acted almost a year ago when she was told about the growing unease among Gujjars over her election promise to get them included in the ST category," a party source said.

"She" above being the Maharani herself and the people who are questioning her judgement are the BJP brass.

I don't take pot-shots at people who get wisdom at hindsight. It is better than the alternative. But one can't help wondering where they were when Gujjar disaffections were beginning to boil over as far as a year back?

C-da,

if violent behavior isn't about creating terror (and terrorism) then what is? This guy is inciting violence - so deserves to be in prison -- I don't believe in : kill one and you are a murderer and a million and your are revolutionary. Perhaps you believe in that.

It is interesting that this so-called general is fighting to get easy berth ---no much of a rock is he?

Why isn't he now in prison for inciting terror?

**** I don't know Umesh. I thought hard, but hadn't a clue.

Why ? Perhaps YOU can explain to us why. Ram stayed the heck steer clear of this one.

But I think you really called whats-his-name by the fitting epithet of "sock of mud".

I tell ya, there are terrorists everywhere . Even in Rajasthan. Imagine that! I bet it is that ISI again. They are everywhere. Do you think the people of Rajasthan will forgive him and the Gujjars for terorizing the Maharani's peaceable kingdom?

*** The question that arises in my mind, is HOW the Maharani and her minions found the time or the need to want to meet with the Gujjars NOW, while she did not when the disaffections were brewing?

Maybe Ram has an answer :-).

The latest news is that : National Security Act imposed in Rajasthan.

Under the National Security Act, the District Magistrate can order arrest without a warrant.

That is desi-demokrasy in its best! !

'Rock of Gibraltar' leading protest

JAIPUR: If the Gujjar agitation is being conducted with a modicum of military precision, it's because the chief strategist of the protests is a retired Army colonel, who, his supporters say, has the qualities of a general.

Col Kirori Singh Baisala rose from the ranks in the Army, from a lowly sepoy, and is known for his rigidity and commitment, as was seen when Gujjar mobs across the state attacked Rajasthan police in coordinated waves, completely overwhelming them.

"Let hundred people die. But we are clear in our objectives. We have suffered enough and would not go back until we get the ST status," he said. Since Monday, he has been sitting with the bodies of six people killed in the police firing in Pipalkehra village, his native place.

In the Army, he was called the 'Rock of Gibraltar' by his officers when he was a jawan.

When the chief minister, Vasundhara Raje, sent her emissary to invite him to Jaipur and and hold a meeting with her, he

said , "Maharaniji ko kah dijiye ki pahle ek chithi de dein jisme vachan dein ki sarkar hamein ST status dene ke liye recommend karti hai, phir meeting mein aoonga (Tell the Maharani to give a letter promising

ST status, then I'll come to the meeting)."
