If I know something of a body-language -
Medha was only pro-people. Not Anti Technology.
In fact she was pining that India does not use technology.
"Millions of Techies all concerned only for their own techy comforts ".
And the Raaj never demands that they use truly useful technology for the
masses' life-improvement.
She did not stop there-- expressing self pity at the leadership-voidness in
the great(can be) Nation.

She left for her next Press-meet only when the 1000+ in the hall shouted with
her "We shall fight-we shall reverse the rot of 60 years. We( from NE) will
help Indian masses to get peoples' power back - to improve everybody's lives"
The gutter press did not see/report all these. Too fine and subtle for them to
understand !

"The participants have also demanded Forest village land settlement and
rehabilitation of evicted people and the families displaced by floods and
erosion. They also called for immediate declaration of rehabilitation and
resettlement policies by the NE states." "Over 2,000 participants from all
over the NE region and other parts of the country took part in the dialogue,
which was also attended by Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar."
("People's consent must for development projects". AT report, June 19) The
first paragraph above has all valid points. M'Da wrote:>She made jokes about
Vajpayee's(actuallyTata/Volvo/OilCo's) "PET PROJECT" -6 -lane motorway While
she is all concerned about the poor people, I also read that she was involved
in activities like obstructing rehablitation of the same poor people. Is she
aware that those people won't get an award or a grant even if they don't accept
the government help and just STARVE to death? Is she against technology then?

I was there -the 2nd day.I found Medha -A thinker for all people ,all India.
Expressive ,Selfless,Honest,Fearless, ace in fluent oratory in flawless Hindi
or English: -Totally aware of
MeaningfulTechnology,Progress,Development - Totally informed
of all that is going on in Assam and So-Called-By-Some NE -
And witty to the coreShe made jokes about
Vajpayee's(actuallyTata/Volvo/OilCo's) "PET PROJECT" -6 -lane motorwayShe felt
there should be 100 cities in Assam where all residents work and produce-not
SELL.She said "Look East" Policy is actually "Loot East" She asked Assam and
"NE" to aid India fight out the grasp of the sellout facade Brigade
Mittal-Ambani-Tata- and all the Ballyhoo of Navaratnas. I really thought she
was the right material to become the NEXT Indian PM.I hope India grows up to
recruit her to lead. mm ADate: Wed, 20 Jun 2007 09:58:53 -0700> From: [EMAIL
