The other day Manipuri rebels killed a pan supplier for refusing to obey their dictats. They have banned Hindi, Hindi movies for spoiling their culture. Is Manipuri culture so weak that they cannot co-exist with another one? Somehow they dont seem to have problems with Western porn movies. Never heard of a dictat banning them. BTW is selling pan, zarda as bad as supplying cocaine, brown sugar etc?
Today in Assam, we read that AKRSU activists torced a bus with passengers. What a way to make news - butcher your own people and make your voice heard. ( See http://www.telegraphindia.com/1071028/asp/frontpage/ story_8482799.asp ) And then we try to portray to the outside world that Assam is a land of beauty, civility etc etc. We try to throw dust on investors, domestic and foreign tourists with fake facts. Civilization has long ended in Assam. Corruption and terrorism rules in Assam. We are still and probably ever remain the "junglee" people that others think of us. For my part, I will be doing my best to ask friends never to go to that part of Talibanised India.
