Friends,
Here comes our great heroes alongwith the new year 2008.Let me begin with our
very own proud man- the educated one from IT.I have good police officers in
Bangalore in my close friends circle.There are few who was with me in my 2
decades long military service.So we do share lighter moments of our enchanting
past.As most of them was in Assam also, some speak broken assamese or
compliments in assamese.This makes someone getting shock- A Karnataka police
officer talking in Assamese.(being in military we do pick up lot of Indian
languages and learn too). There is one Inspector who will always remind me
while stopping any assamese violating traffic rules and let them free without
any fine etc..... then he or they will call me up.(All because I am always with
police here in Bangalore-either medically or legally) And tell about the
offenders.I am hapy that honesty pays good for mankind.But sometimes things go
wrong way.So is the story of today:-
At 1702 hrs on today being Jan 2nd,I got immediate call from my Inspector
friend- who carry good image of Assamese.One proud well educated axomiya was
drunken heavily and got involved with an road traffic accident.Instead asking
apology proudly he started narrating the officer that he is an axomiya and
insulted him badly.This irked my friend and so called me to seek my comments.I
too got confused at the honesty of my friend.I am none above law.Instead I do
help law to nab the violators! He asked me if I would say him to release
because of my sincerety to law of the land as well paying regards to my long
service to the nation. I was bound to go as per the law as the man did insulted
the officer on duty,violated law of the land and requested the officer to take
action as per the law.Soon the man was booked and arrested.
Here comes the honesty pays and lyality gains theory.But our own people
merely understood that they are in another land do al rubbish.I feel sad most
of the times why our people are like that.Is this something heroic act?Did
anyone ever felt to know to whom the police officer was talking for so long
instead of beating him then and there and taking him to the lock up?
While we carry god image for the entire region, wish our people coming out
newly shouldnot behave like the winged white ants.(Wui pokar pathi goja katha).
The honesty of the officer need be praised for having so homely & hearty
feelings for our people.
