Friends,
We did lost one man with his glorious past at the age of 93 yrs,left by 7 to
make his century. I did heard this name earlier as my father used to say about,
but Shantiakm da never told to me.His heavenly demise opened lot many to the
world of modern life and even to my surprise! This is called the foot prints of
Noble man.
Late Arun Hazarika- No more.When I did asked my eldest brother at my native
Kalaigaon- 85 miles away from GHY to find out from my father Sri Paniram Das, a
then hero of 1930s till today at the age of 92.To my surprise now my father did
revealed that he,Late Hem Baruah,Late Debakanta Baruah, Late Arun Hazarika was
a big and strong amazing group of then reporters of Assam Tribune from 1938-50
under then Editor Late Laxminath Phukan.I too never knew my father was also a
reporter!!! Rest all amazing stories I know.This evening when my brother
contacted present editor Assam Tribune, he simply ignored the glorious
past.(pathetic), he expressed inability about all these great man!! ( Now only
I got why deuta used to scold openly all of them.. for fun!! They used to
laugh...)
Late Arun Hazarika was also with my fathers organized famous Barbori (
Rongamati Chapori) camp in 1949 while East Pak Mian was attacking Assam to
capture as "larke Lenge Pakistan"by crossing river Brahmaputra from Nagaon.
Sorowfully my father- the lone man, now cant talk over phone. He is writing
amazing stories with Late Arun Hazarika dating back 1938.( The pistol firing
story too) My father is a live history lying in ignorance by the present
world.A t my request now he is writing up and the moment I get the copy, I will
place here for all.Till then let the suspens continue...
Let Arun Hazarika bordeuta remain as a shining star to bless we all.Could we
make big documentary with these peoples life please?To preserve our lost
glorious past- for the future generations?
