One of the old system going on through the National highway Kaziranga since
long and none hope feel it as important and so how we do loose lot many
precious wild animals/birds from there. This technique I am studying since long
and once have experienced too.
The Nagaland Govt officials/Ministers/MLAs supposed to remain in their state
boundaries only.Assam is not their territory. If one follow their huge convoy
with long barrel weapon (Long barrel weapon are best to kill anyone at the
single shot)holding security man/escorts frequently visiting GHY or other
places of Assam, can find the motive of their travel to another state. One can
find beeline of Nagaland VVIP/VIP etc traveling frequently via this road.But
this is only to make their easy hunt.They prefer to travel Kaziranga area at
night.On the way they will shoot the standing any animal that they like.They
will have one follow up vehicle behind.Their easy target are Deers/Wild
boar/Xahapahoo.....
Amazing to believe,But its true and routine.Since they got red light or
heavily armed escorts, none dare to stop.Even they do show the weapon to human
also mercilessly.They might stop on the way and poach Rhino also- who knows.
While I was posted at Air Force Dinjan, once I was travelling on duty to
guwahati for some official work with fully equipped vehicles.I know well about
them.One Nagaland Minister was following much behind us and wanted to overtake,
but since there was lot many trucks and buses, we prefered not to give
side.They showed their weapon to us knowing what we was!!(Might be some part of
brain was missing- honestly speaking). Later we allowed them.But I saw them
making stop at kaziranga area of the highway for stop- where no shop/eating
hotel is available. I too stopped.As military we got full right over Indian
boundaries without any state restrictions.Then my doubt was clear and found
foul smell. I told them to proceed as its anotehr state and being a national
park.Loitering with weapon is offence.They of course scolded me well and
finally left for GHY! On the way I did informed in one police
outpost(Kahora).The police said they do all regularly as police got hardly some
power
on them. Un believable that other state ministers to show their colour in
Assam-that too Kaziranga!!!! This is our system now!!
Might be now also same things going on.When they go back, they do cary big
meat for one weeks stock?Who knows.
My intensions now is why not to start up with morale patrolling poicing in
that area? What now AASU is doing Morla policing in GHY should be extended to
Kaziranga region to.The entire highway- specially during nights.The OIL,Tata
tea etc can very well find for it. Latest news are more sorowfull.More Rhinos
are being killed now alongwith tigers.There are gradual encroachment of the
national park land by the immigrants and Biharis.Courtesy-AGP law.
