In a Harvard seminar (in Fong audi) in 2004/2005 there was a woman speaker who said the democracy was a Western idea and that in Asia etc it is an alien concept. I had to remind her that India is a practicing democracy. Wonder why Taiwan, a practicing democracy is not made a memer of United Nations whereas China is.
