strange logic - why would any company like to hire a more costly foreign worker than hire a cheaper local one . There must be something more than meets the eye. I talked to a few of my IT friend s from India who work in a white American owned company and found that 70% of their IT guys are on H1B work visas and paid a lot more than prevailing wage rate. And they sponsor their green card also. I wondered why they couldn't find local talent. Anyway most (about 50% or more) of engg and medical seats in US (or Canadian) colleges are taken by Asian/Asian immigrant students or those from Africa , Latin America etc -- people for whom Thursday is not the new Friday
