If I go by the names of parents given there I get an instant recall --seeing burqa-clad and other traditionally garbed women leading 4-7 kids of various ages alongwith their husbands. Many of these kis become mechanics and machine workers. It is part of the problem that the rate of population growth is highest in Muslim community in India as a religious group and also among poor and less educated as a socio-economic class. Religions tell people to produce more kids - the Pope has said, most Islamic mullahs say it and Hindu group RSS said it recently . Also, poor health services force people to have more children - since many children die. Education can reduce child birth and improve nutritiion and health initiatives.
