I agree with you always.It was never to hurt you at any cost. I was trying to
arrange Mr.GAvin to meet my father and he promised me, but nothing much had
happened as all come to the focus of media.
You are very well versed about my origin.I am from a village, never studied
in a LP schoo, all was done at home,directly got admission to kalaigaon High
School in class 4th on 10 Feb 1972 Studied my home Lp on Athiya kal paat,Dowat
Chiyahee ,pakhi (Falcon feather).worked in paddy fields, plaughing early
morning 0345 hrs till 0700 hrs, do home works, take cattle for grazzing, go to
collect Shewali phool(Xewali),sweep big compound,heat up the manual Iron to
press clothes, burn fire wood do it your own.Use Kahimala aatha to label school
books. For geting good Kahimala aatha(Gum) we used to cut the branch at mid
night.
Born in a Gandhain family with all religion recitations, visits by Acharya
Vinoba Bhabe in 1961, my father did established a village of Tea Garden
Kuli(labourer) known as Xamalabori.This is one of the model village and since
that eforts encouraged by Vinoba Bhabe, they remain hard core gandhian and my
father is well respected.Present one MrTanti is from th same vilage who is ISRO
scientist at Mumbai.We worked with vilagers under shramdan sewa for drainage
and cleanliness project being a small kid in 1969 happily.My house is a
ashram.All activities was based from there.Then Governor Sir Syed Sadulla,
Bimala Prasad Chaliha,DEbakanta baruah, Hem Baruah used to have base camp at
our home leaving capital Shillong. Evening bhajan by al religion is very
sweet.For all these today also Kalaigaon area dnt have communual problems.
Mty father was the man behind establishing today's kalaigaon Higher Secondary
School.he started that on a small room in 1952 as MV School.he was with
management committe till it become HS School and Govt took over fully.Since we
al was out from school, some otehr rival political party opposed him to be in
comite.. that was the end of it.Now we have one Girls High School at our land
fully converted to Govt one,First Navodaya School of Darrang(it was to go to
Tezpur or balipara) was established at our home land, now my father arranged
large land to get shifted at free.Now we also have one own school Lokapriya
Gopinath Bordoloi English high school, doing well in science activities.My
eldest brother Jayanta Kumar Das take care of it with his old classmates.
My father first established kalaigaon College long ago with big fight betwen
illegal occupants from the abondoned British tea garden land(Greenland tea
eastate- people now say Garlen TE), due to father the local people gave away
the land.Now its a big college with much developement of the area.Father walked
from his own money to collect funds from door to door alone at this age.Great
support he got from the tea gardens and his old rich friends.This was due to
trust on him.Unfortunately the thugs are always there.he made Bholabari High
School HM as secretary and he finished all the hard collected cash fund.One
fine day he came to our home and told my father that no money and now he is
resigning!! When my fatehr asked where al these money gone?He replied simply-
you only told to spend all!!! As my father used to sign blank sanctions.That
Ganga Deka never had child and noted to earn money like that.One fine day he
died only.God is there, the college came up and today its a
nice college.
In 1972 my father initiated kalaigaon Rupalim Maina Parijat with late
Dr.Haranath hazarika and Late Mouzadar Nanababu.(Brother of Shiba Prasad
Sharmah).
My father was the man behind Assam agitation when his close friend Hiralal
Patowari died and election was ordered.Since then the trauma started.What ever
we used to get from our paddy productions, all gone for the battle of Assam.he
used all his home money to raise voice against India.So he was pushed back in
jail till ministry formed.The great loss we had can never be recovered.In 1986
we lost our mother.. we had no money to take her out and all was in jail
etc.....None was there to take care of her.
Some old family well wishers gave us support.
during emergencies, Indira ordered my father to be kept behind bars.We was
helpless.Still being a small boy I used to ferry the pamphlets sent by
Jaiprakash narayan to my father, in a bi cycle for 80-100 miles daily.The CID
could never had doubt on me.They were sitting in front of home only...
One fine day I founf wrong with leadership and joined forces, before leaving
my college studies BA with hons in Geography 2nd yrs from Mangaldai college.
Since then I am out and doing my best for Assam.The man I loved are no
more-Bhrigu died,Lalit Rajkhowa was killed by Prafulla,Indira Baruah is in
depression,Dhruba Baishya da changed.....
I did further studies from military and today also I am doing my MBA here.
Today I am without a job, I am doing freelancing.I leaned It skills at my own
will.Yes I was with Air Force Intelligence and a deadly Commando.
All what I learned is from my Gandhain independant past.My mother was trained
in Xaraniya Ashram- the most neglected place today.I remain grateful to that
place.
I dnt know how many do understand me.Today I am writing this in view of so
much and clapping by baideo.But this is al about me.I am not sitting inside
home or office.My whole family is highly involved with Assam.Only lack of
communications made us to remain away from huge publicity.This is why Balin
Bordoloi was released and kept with best comforts.My younger brother is NE
forest warden for long and he helped to stop poachings at Orang National park
once for all.
How much then needed by the whole family?Alpana baideo tell me now-For the
sake of State Assam, the whole family is bankruppted.We never begged for
donations etc.Life goses on.WE smile always.My father smiles at 92 now.April
7th he will be 93..............This Australian Gandhi had no time to meet Pani
Ram Das at kalaigaon- The last Gandhian of Assam.
I am going back to Assam after few more years once for all.And hope I will be
doing more that I did before.Til then lot of groundwors are taken by us at a
remote vilage silently......Kalaigaon.
