Seven more ITIs in Asom soon

NEW DELHI, May 8: Polytechnics and Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and 
Technology (CIPET), in coordination with GAIL have been undertaking 
entrepreneurial development programmes at Guwahati. The Centre is going to 
introduce at least seven ITIs in Asom, said Union Minister of State for 
Chemicals and Fertilizer BK Handique toady. He said after completion of 
training courses in the ITIs, at least one lakh youths will get jobs in the Gas 
Cracker Project. An estimated 500 plastic processing industries are likely to 
come up in the north-eastern region when Lepetkata becomes operational. 
Regarding the fencing work of the project, the Union Minister said tender will 
open for about 13,000 sq km tomorrow.
