It seems that finally my high school ( 5-12th grade ) friends found me online. This is the first online copy of the newsletter I used to receive when I was in India.
Mabe they are trying to return to normalcy despite the blasts in the city. The city's elite are ofcourse part of the alumni. Ol school friends are really a great help, including one who sponsored my student loan to go to Harvard -- I used the example set by another classmate of mine when he borrowed from a rich jeweler to go to Carnegie Mellon many years back. Now he runs the company right here in DC http://www.partszone1.com/ http://www.minnpar.com/news.cfm though I haven't contacted him so far here. He is married to an IIT professor's daughter whom he met at IIT-K. He doesn't hail from the business caste of family and yet he seems to have learned from his businessmen school mates. Ofcourse working at McKinsey also helps. I recently heard that a few NRAs have started operations of IT consultancy and are eager to set up shop in Assam as well. One person told me that a call center has started in Gauhati.
