NE Education Ministers to deliberate on brain drain
SHILLONG, July 6: Education Ministers from north-eastern States, including
Sikkim, have decided to meet in Shillong next month to discuss how to combat
the increasing brain drain from the region. “We have observed that almost all
the meritorious students go out of the region for better education, career
prospects and opportunities. Many of them never return home. We are a bit
concerned about the trend,” Meghalaya Higher and Technical Education Minister
Manas Chaudhuri said. (UNI)
