Silchar boy goes to Canadian University as a research Scholar

Baharul Islam of Lalabazar , a place near Silchar has been awarded a fellowship 
by the Concordia University of Canada to continue his research work on high 
yield rice grains. Baharul had made some path breaking discoveries in the field 
and he claims to have found the answer to GM crops that can be cultivated in 
this climate and yet have a high yield per hectare of land. 
 
Baharul had done his preliminary work in Assam University Silchar and North 
East Hill University in Shillong in association with the department of 
Biotechnology and Agro Botany. 
 
He is expected to leave for Canada by the beginning of September once his
