I was literally shell-shocked to come across a statement made by ABSU in their 92-point demands in which they assert that the Assamese are anti-tribal.A direct quote will carry the right flavor." THE MAJORITY OF ASSAMESE PEOPLE HAVE DEADLY AND POISONOUS ANTI-TRIBAL ATTITUDE".THEY CANNOT TOLERATE THE EXISTENCE OF TRIBALS SUCH AS BODOS,MISINGS,KARBIS ETC".
In my measured opinion,their assertion is way over-the-top.As a matter of fact,I find it to be outrageous,obtuse and insensate.I AM YET TO ENCOUNTER A SINGLE ASSAMESE,WHO HARBOURS ILL-FEELING OR HATRED TOWARDS OUR TRIBAL BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
