WE were bracing for a massive shutdown of our area with predictions of 1.5 to 2" ice to be followed by 10"-16" of snow north of Hwy 70.

Lucky for us, neither happened to the degree feared. Got about 1/2" of ice, followed by about 6" of snow. Not bad really. But most everything was closed down for two days.

P.S. You have heard about rolling power cut during summer for heavy demand. SE Texas went through some rolling cut this morning for reduced power supply when some generating units tripped out due to low temperature (oh about 20 deg F) :-)
