establishment is big. The students of this blind school participated in an
interactive meet with Col. Mike Fince, a NASA Astronaut organised by FASS.

I shall contact them and get all the information including contact details.
They may like to know the reason for collecting their contact details
therefore please let me know why you want the list of blind schools in

The Poll itself is not merely ambiguous, it is also appallingly
simple-minded, not to mention
oblivious or ignorant, of the issues that are interrelated.

To offer a response would be equally simple minded, if not careless.

I agree with C'da that this poll has a lot to be desired.

Further, an internet poll is at best a guesstimate, and quite unscientific.
On an issue like this, and targeting
only a handful of people who have access to the internet is not helpful.

My guess is that most people in Assam have limited or no internet.

Dear Friend, It would be simplistic just?to say yes or no in response to the
seven questions you have set. Here are my answers. Thanks. -- N.Chakravarty
?
?
?
No. 1. If the question is framed differently [e.g., Will Paresh Baruah's
particpation be useful in ensuring the success of the peace talks?] my
answer would be YES. But whether he should or should not join is for him to
decide.
?
No? 2. The talks can be successful without Paresh Baruah if the rest of the
ULFA leaders isolate him.
?
No. 3. No one can stop ULFA from raising the issue of sovereignty since no
specific parameters have been pre-determined.
?
No. 4. As far as I am aware the ULFA leaders have not forfeited their
citizenship. So they are as eligible as any other citizen of India to take
part in the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam. Whether each of them can
cast his/her vote depends on whether their names are on the electoral rolls.
?
No. 5. How can any meaningful talks be held without the ULFA leaders being
released from detention?
?
No. 6. The question is ambiguous. The Indian State has all along maintained
that dialogue is the only way to solve problems. A violent crackdown is no
alternative.?History tells us that revolts and insurrections can be
suppressed for some time by resorting to brute force but the application of
force does not help win people's? hearts and minds nor does it provide a
long term solution.
?
No. 7. The law should run its course?and punish those against whom there are
specific charges of indulgence in violence and mayhem.
?
??????????????????????? THE END

?

This is about providing audio books ("Bookshare India") for visually
impaired students. This is relatively very expensive in the US. They have
given a very good "deal" to the schools that have students with a
"Qualifying Print Disability" in India. The same package here would cost
thousands of dollars, but in India it would be offered at an extremely
subsidized rate - to those 'qualified schools'. The main project is
supported by U. S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education
Program.

So I was thinking why miss this great opportunity for the blind schools in
Assam?

I am not sure if you saw my earlier mail with an appeal to any organization
to take this up on a continuous basis. As I said earlier, I am willing to
sponsor 5 schools (if needed) for this year only. After that the
schools/organizations will need to take it up from there on. I would have
loved to be involved in this myself on a continuous basis, but I have
committeed to some other projects, so my plate is kind of full.

The web site has the information on whom to contact - the paper work etc.
will have to be initiated and continued at the local level with the agencies
mentioned there.

Here is the information again:

> Rs. 400/year for 5000 books.
>
> It will be great for the Blind school in Jorhat and all the others in
Assam and everywhere else in India.
> Here is the link: http://www.bookshare.org/?c=en_IN

Thank you for taking an interest in this worthwhile cause.

Best,
-A. Sarangapani

To,
Mr. Yadab Doloi,
Convener, Intellectual Cell, BJP, Assam.

Dear Mr. Doloi,

We do not know any State in India as ASOM. We know there is a State in the
North-east part of India called ASSAM. If you want to mean about this State
then please make the correction of the spelling. All higher-ups in your
Central Committee knows about it and Sarbananda Sonowal is very much aware
why it should be ASSAM and not ASOM.

We hope you will make the corrections soon.

Regards,

Bidyananda Barkakoty

"The Poll itself is not merely ambiguous, it is also appallingly
simple-minded, not to mention
oblivious or ignorant, of the issues that are interrelated.

To offer a response would be equally simple minded, if not careless."Hi
Chandan Da, you can also include a careless/ simpleminded/ outrageous
response to be a form of democratic protest:-)
