Raiz: This is my last memory of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika when he visited London in 1999. I have organised a memorable function at Indian YMCA for his honour. His Excellency: Dr. Lalit Mansingh, the Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom delivered a heart touching informative speech praising Dr. Hazarika. The dignitaries that were present at the event were Lord Dholokia & Lady Ann, Professor Indra Nath Choudhuri, Director of the Nehru Centre, Dr. Audrey Cantlie, Department of Anthropology and Sociology - SOAS, Rita Payne - Asia Editor, BBC World News (TV) Kailash Budhwar, BBC Hindi Service, Lalita Ahmed, Hindi language department of BBC World Service, Amit Roy, Daily Telegraph. Debojit Barua came all the way from USA.
