Just a couple of hours after posting my email to Assamnet, I find more
items of interest in the New York Times (9 12 2011). The story above
tells us of another intellectual (a professor) who also resorted to
fasting like Anna Hazare for a cause, that of saving a famous holy
shrine.
But he did not get the publicity. The article is under the column:
Latitude and by Dan Morrison.Don thinks that Haridwar is a holy city,
full of hypocrites.
Another article of interest is : Pakistanis Talking in The Street. It
is a blog. But it is nothing mundane like street gossips.
Environmentally minded
citizens are themselves volunteering to clean up the city of Karachi.
