       Observes the Honorable Union Minister for Human 
Resource Development, India. And here is Kaziranga University pursuing 
the vision of the HRD ministry. We are building an institution for the 
21st century in order to respond to the need of the time.
    Located at Jorhat, Assam, India, the campus is spread over 50 acres,
 designed by an internationally renowned architect, equipped with all 
modern facilities, and is well connected by air, rail and road. The 
place with its calm, serene and tranquil environment provides an ideal 
setting for learning. Jorhat has a lively, diverse and educated 
community, and is popularly known as "the Knowledge City" of Assam. 


        Kaziranga University (KU) is established under the Assam 
Private University Act No. XII of 2007 with a vision of becoming a world class 
university, offering state-of-the-art education and research 
relevant to market needs and ensuring that the members of the university 
contribute significantly to societal development. The motto of KU is to become 
a center of excellence for tomorrow's talents. The University 
commits itself as a diverse and socially responsible learning community 
working towards the pursuit of excellence by developing quality 
professionals for the betterment of the entire nation in general, and 
the Northeast in specific. 

       Kaziranga University begins its operation in 2012 
with two Schools.  The KU School of Engineering & Technology will administer 
degree programs (BTech & MTech) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical 
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications 
Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering.  The KU School of Business 
will offer degree programs (BBA & 
MBA) in business administration and in hospitality management. Two more 
schools, namely School of Health Sciences and School of Agriculture 
& Forestry, are slated to come up in the next couple of years. The 
enrolled student base of KU is going to grow from about 500 in the year 
2012 to about 4000 in the year 2016.  KU will administer all its programs in a 
learner-centric, 
outcome-based and quality-assured manner. The overarching commitment of 
its programs is to meet the needs of the 21st century learners, 
employers and society by enabling the students with knowledge, values 
and skills required for attaining and sustaining success and leadership 
in their business, personal and societal life. This core commitment is 
manifested, in keeping with the time, through innovative and trademarked 
attention to the trinity of professional education, namely pedagogy,
