Dear Friends: This morning (30 01 2012) I read in a couple of English dailies the news of the murder of three teenage daughters and.a spouse of an Afghan family, of all places, in Canada. This is what is known as an 'honour killing' in the subcontinent, which usually leads to horrible deaths and tragedies. If you have not either heard or read the news, you can try google with this: "Honor Killings", Canadian jury finds Afghan family guilty.
This is a grave social issue affecting not only the expatriate communities but also those living within the subcontinent. Is it possible to engage an international agency to fight against this kind of prejudice in our societies? -bhuban _______________________________________________ assam mailing list [email protected] http://assamnet.org/mailman/listinfo/assam_assamnet.org
