Dear journalist friends,
You are cordially invited for an interactive session on ‘Changing Policies in 
Burma: Opportunities and Challenges’ at Guwahati Press Club on March 9 
(Friday). Organized by Burma Centre Delhi (BCD) in collaboration with 
Journalist Forum Assam (JFA), the session will begin at 10 am. The keynote 
address of the meeting will be delivered by Dr Tint Swe, chairman of BCD and 
also an active member of National League for Democracy led by Nobel laureate 
Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma (Myanmar or Brahmadesh).
Dr Alana Golmei, coordinator of BCD will also address the meet. Similarly 
Lalremruata from Zo Indigenous Forum, Ms Rina from Arunachal Times, Mr Philip 
from Morung Express will share their experiences on the occasion.
A compilation of articles on ‘India-Burma Relations: Trends & Developments 
(1990-2011)’ will also be inaugurated in the meeting. The book includes 
articles, papers and viewpoints of some renowned experts who have first hand 
knowledge, experience and concern on India-Burma relations. Some of the 
important contributors include Dr Shashi Tharoor, Mani Shanker Aiyer, Jaya 
Jaitley, C.S Kuppuswamy, Dr K. Yhome, Prof Ganganath Jha, Prof Baladas Ghoshal, 
Rahul. K. Bhonsle, Anil Bhat, Subir Bhaumik, Nava Thakuria, Satya Sagar with Dr 
Tint Swe.   
“This report stresses the relations between the two countries over the last two 
decades and was published to serve as an insight and understand the 
socio-political process in Burma and the trends that evolve between India and 
Burma. It is hoped that this information in its small way will contribute to 
the dawn of renewed and strengthen relations and bridge Indians as well as 
Burmese people towards development, peace and stability,” said in a BCD 
statement.
