Hi Krishnendu: Glad to see your note here.. Not sure about the 3G iPads. iPads (WiFi) are handy and useful in hotels that have (free) WiFi access. For us, in December, it laid idle and asleep while we were in Guwahati. Tata Photon's has a portable WiFi router that can create a portable hotspot for upto 5 computers, I saw. so that may work for the WiFi version, not sure about the cost. Their service (for Photon+) was a little better last time we were there (Dec. 2011), but was very slow reception, especially at night, don't know why. I think the cost for the 3G plan to cover over there with an iPad/service provider from here woudl be sky-rocketing. We can't even afford the phone charges from our provider from here, we just get local pre-paid cards through friends/family members there, feel helpless sometimes without some of the gadgets, but its not worth it to use services from here - if offices pay for it, that's different, but then you will be able to use for office work only, not to call your mama, dada, or pehideu, so the local services are much better. My two cents....
