2nd EMFA Media Awards on Sunday Guwahati: The second EMFA Media Awards 2011 will be awarded on March 18 (Sunday) in glittering function to be held at Ravindra Bhawan,Guwahati where the State Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will attend as chief guest and eminent Swedish journalist Bertil Lintner, who is based in Thailand will attend as a special guest. The programme will start at 10.30 am, informed the office bearers of Electronic Media Forum Assam (EMFA) in a press meet organized today at Guwahati Press Club. The organizers informed that the award is launched with an aim to honour the television journalist, camera person, technical personalities, who had shown excellent performance and commitment in their works telecast through various news channels of the region during the year 2011. The category includes Best Voice Over, Best Video Editor, Best Graphic team, Best Programme, Best Programme (Women issues), Best Anchor (Male), Best Anchor (Female), Best Camera Person, Best Sports Reporting (The Channel), Best Reporting on Human Interested Story (both Reporter & Camera Person), Best Reporting on Development issues (both Reporter & Camera Person), Best Reporting on Economic issues (both Reporter & Camera Person), Best Reporting on Environment issues (both Reporter & Camera Person), Best Reporting on Insurgency issues (both Reporter & Camera Person), Best Investigative Reporting (both Reporter & Camera Person) and Best Story/ Reporting of the Year. A Souvenir titled Taranga will also be inaugurated on the occasion, which will be followed by cultural programmes, where media persons will showcase their cultural talents.
