Dear Friends:

This story is worth following up to see how the UK Department is changing
Lives. It is from the Independent,UK this morning (17 03 2012).
I am afraid you would have to find the pictures yourselves.

In India more people live in poverty than in the whole of Africa. It is a
region where the most vulnerable women, babies and children are hit the
hardest.

Britain is working with the Government of Odisha, one of India's poorest
states, to build up government-led health services, which alongside support
from UNICEF, bring healthcare to all rural communities.
Last year the lives of 7,500 newborn babies were saved in Odisha because of
better support for mums from healthcare services.
In this picture story you can see how community health workers, groups of
grannies and soap opera stars coming together, with British support.
