Dear Ankul
I read the recent correspondences, mainly, Anjan’s reply toManoj, Ilu and Ankur. These were very wholesome discussions. First of all, I congratulate all concerned for the bestpossible choice of nominating the leader of the team of architects to be entrustedwith the project of designing the Sankardev international centre in London: Chan Mahanta. I was associated with a sub-committee of the Assam SahityaSabha more than a decade ago, with the task of finding a roof for theAssam Sahitya Sabha., London Chapter. The committee did not submit a report. And as you know, I am not a loud enoughperson! And about thirty years ago, another gentleman also made a little noise about it. This I say just for therecord. I visited a number of community halls which were being auctionedby the Boroughs. Presently, there is one at Abbeywood, Kent. I found them either not at all suitable or prohibitivecostwise. In case of abandoned churches, the Boroughs have laws protecting theburials in and around the church. I suggested a few possibilities but therewere no takers. There are other concerns with which we may not concernourselves at the moment. Joy Aye Asom ! bhuban _______________________________________________ assam mailing list [email protected] http://assamnet.org/mailman/listinfo/assam_assamnet.org
