Aank-Baak award ceremony on April 23
GUWAHATI,
April 10 – Established with an aim to create a positive and
professional atmosphere to help uplift Assamese literature, the
‘Aank-Baak Upanyash Bota 2010-11’ will be awarded on April 23 next which
is also the World Book Day.A press release issued today said that the day will
be observed with a colourful programme at the District Library auditorium here.
A meeting to be held on the occasion will start on 11 am where the
best novel, Tejimalar Makor Sadhu authored by Mridul Sarma will be
awarded. It may be mentioned that a jury comprising Dr Hiren Gohain,
Harekrishna Deka and Apurba Sarma had earlier selected the best from
among the three nominated novels –
Tejimalar..., Sowa Pitambar Shyambaran Megh Ure by Jiban Narah and
Neela Noi by Aparna Goswami. The best novel will be awarded Rs 1 lakh
cash and a trophy, the release said.
