Novel on rural Assam released

 GUWAHATI,
 Oct 1 – Eti Duti Egharati Tora, a novel by journalist and editor of 
Asom Bani, Dilip Chandan was released by popular authors Rita Choudhury 
and Manikuntala Bhattacharya at Guwahati Press Club today. Based on the 
emerging problems of Assamese rural societies, the novel has been published by 
Akhar Publications. Speaking
 about the content of his novel, Dilip Chandan highlighted the new sets 
of problems being faced by the people in rural Assam. "The picture of 
rural Assam, portrayed in the write ups of our senior writers in earlier
 days, was completely different from what we see today. The plot of this
 novel is set in two villages by the river in lower Assam," he added. Exhorting
 the writer to come up with books on some extensive and thought 
provoking subject matters in the future, Rita Choudhury said that Dilip 
Chandan’s writings have the potential of changing the thought process of
 his readers and he has the talent to express the human feelings in a 
way, which is not possible for every writer. Manikuntala Bhattacharya also 
lauded writing capabilities of Dilip Chandan and said that his readers eagerly 
await his books.Writer Bhadra Bora and executive editor of Dainik Asam Munin 
Bayan also spoke on the occasion. Executive editor of The Assam Tribune PJ 
Baruah was also present on the dais.
