There has been a long felt need of an advanced software tool for writing
Assamese speedily in Unicode method in Computer. An ambitious project has been
undertaken by few volunteers of Asom to address this need and result of this
project is Jahnabi Wordprocessor. This software is offered FREE of COST!
Salient features of this Word processor are-
* Auto-suggestion for words
* Dictionary
* Facility to add words to user’s Dictionary
* Spell-check
* Facility to create user’s own shortcut for frequently used idioms or
sentences
* Idioms
The success of the software which is developed by a group of volunteers will
depend on the response of the users. Thus, Team Jahnabi would like to request
you to feel free to put forward your valuable suggestions and difficulties
faced while using the Wordprocessor. This will help us to improvise Jahnabi.
In the second phase of Jahnabi, a full fledged Offline Digital Dictionary would
be made available with descriptions of important places and historical
monuments of Asom .
