Honour for Assam's finest stalwarts 2. Tezpur University's professor bags
prestigious INSA Teachers AwardTo recognize and value excellence, consistency
and high level of teaching in Indian Colleges, Universities and Institutions,
the Indian National Science Academy instituted INSA Teachers Award in 2012. The
award shall be made annually to recognize and honour teachers for providing
guidance, inspiration and mentoring students to take up careers in Science and
Technology. All disciplines of Science and Technology including Medical &
Engineering Sciences come under the purview of this award.The award shall be
made to outstanding teachers currently working or worked in India, with at
least 20 years of teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level in
any Indian College/University/Institution. Annually 12 INSA awards are
presented. One of the 12 recipients of INSA Award 2016 is my cousin sister
Professor Nashreen S Islam, Department of Chemical Sciences, Tezpur University,
Tezpur. The citation of the award reads: "For her excellent contributions as a
very popular, highly dedicated and influential chemistry teacher. Apart from
regularteaching, she inspired the students to master the subject, contribute to
