Snehalaya is an institution for destitute children , childrenwho were in need 
of shelter, love and guidance. These children were at risk,vulnerable to 
dreadful situations in absence of proper care and protection.They loitered 
around in Railway stations, bus stations or might have been indifferent abusive 
conditions. Snehalaya, meaning “house of love” is shelteringthese children with 
medical care, education, recreation and counseling. Foundedby Father Luckose 
Cheruvalel , Snehalaya is credited with uniting long lostchildren with their

 Currently , Snehalaya is going through a difficult financialsituation. “At 
present we have about 230 children both boys and girls. Withrising expenditure, 
it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide for allthe children” – We 
recently received a communication from Anamika Baruah ofSnehalaya.
