Asam Bani scribe wins Inland Letter writing contest

 GUWAHATI, Oct 1 - Hiranya Kumar Barman of Guwahati has won the third prize at 
the national level Inland Letter Category (Open Category) writing competition 
organised the Department of Post, Ministry of Communications, Government of 
India, under the ‘Dhai Akhar Campaign’ to revive the beautiful art of writing 
letter.Earlier, Barman who is an employee of Asam Bani, an Assamese weekly 
published by the Assam Tribune Group, had emerged first at the state level 
contest. The topic for the national level contest was ‘Dear Bapu, you inspire 
me…’ Barman is the only awardee from the Northeast at the national level 
contest.

He will receive the award at a function to be held at Sabarmati Ashram, 
Gujarat, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
