*** Absolutely right. If you go to any village in Assam,you will see it it is pockmarked with groves of trees and bamboo. They do NOT go and clear cut them or denude them of vegetation. The allow the vegetations to regenerate after harvesting what they need, and replace them when they have to or when it is beneficial. Theirs is a system of mutual dependance. The problem is with the PUBLIC forests and lands. That is what is clear-cut, looted, destroyed. Just like everything else that is publicly owned or is in the public domain. And it is not the little guys from the villages who do it.
