We have really enjoyed Assam 2003. The small community in St Louis really worked hard to make it a big success. Hotel accommodation, game and work out
facilities were very good. The food was adequate and fine.
Arrangement for cultural program was excellent. The lighting and sound system were the best ever. It was very nice to find that the cultural programs were started on time
both evenings. First evening it ended on time as scheduled. However there were few glitches during the second evening. One program went on & on far beyond any bodys
expectation. For that Anuradha Mahantas apology on behalf of Houston community is timely and appropriate. Second glitch was during the second segment of the cultural program on July 5th. One item which was not in the published schedule somehow managed to get into the program. It encroached other participants allotted time for that evening. Because of these glitches few artist (s) from Michigan could not perform even though he/they were in the schedule and specific time was allotted to them. I have seen the entire family left the stage with emotional distress. We need to understand that when a time is allotted to someone, he or she really spends a lot of time to rehearse and the entire family comes with great expectation. It means a lot to them. I think an apology to those scheduled artists who could not perform due to the glitches is only appropriate.
St. Louis community has done enough and done a fine job. Now they need your help. In the final count past mid nite on July 5th, there is a five figure ($10,000.00 plus) deficit. Let us help them. Let us send a donation, however small it may be, to Assam 2003.
Thanks.
