BANGALORE: Nadeem Sajjad and Tayyaba, the parents of two-and-a-half-year-old Pakistani patient Noor Fatima, have donated Rs 1.4 lakh set aside for the surgery of their daughter towards creating a fund to treat other poor patients from Pakistan.
Noor Fatima underwent corrective surgery for a congenital heart condition on Tuesday in Narayana Hrudayalaya and is now recovering well.
Noor's father said that he had deposited Rs 1.4 lakh with the hospital towards surgery and other expenses, but the expenses had been met through other donations. Therefore, this amount would now be used to create the fund, he added.
The parents have also added another Rs 50,000 to this fund towards treating poor Pakistani patients who would come in for surgery in the future. Rotary has made a contribution of Rs 1 lakh to this fund to treat poor Pakistani patients. |
