We all deeply mourn the sudden and unexpected death of Dr Bhaben Saikia. Besides being a literary giant, he has been a guide and inspiration to so many people for the Assamese culture and literature. Also he has been a family and literary friend of ours. His memory will be forever with the Assamese society through his many short stories, films, 'xex pristha' in 'Prantik', his autobiography. 'jibon britto', his creation 'kalakhetra', his on going project 'Arohon' and so many other institutions where his creations and footprints will be for everyone to see for years to come. May his soul rest in peace.
