I was requested by the River-linking moderator not to post messages on the subject being discussed by Zakir Kibria that dealt mostly with B'Desh issues. Zakir is a frquent participant in SOUTH ASIAN issues, and I guess that is why he brought up the Sunderbans oil drilling into the discussion, which some Hindu Nationalist types objected to. They had a right to. And I was requested not to 'reply-all' to those posts, since river-linking too got the messages. I have no problems with that. It was my mistake. Now you want Jugal and Saurav to censor or chastise me because of what? * My language? * The content of my posts? * The nature of my posts: public issues ( as opposed to a personal crusade -- get it )? * Partiality--as in chastising Badan B. but not me ? You keep attempting to make an issue of my choice of certain words and phrases. The arguments you make in support of your points are ridiculous, nonesensical and fraught with ignorance of the contemporary usage of the English language. But really, the language alibi is just a subterfuge--everyone knows that. It is NOT the reason for your obsession with Chandan Mahanta. You are obsessed with cm because he told some truths that were hurtful to you and you felt ridiculed and insulted publicly. Now, not being able to admit to the real reasons of your displeasure is nothing to be proud of. Is it? Besides it won't make your PROBLEM go away. CM had Tilok Daktor to do an anlysis of your posts, and he brought home unpleasant truths for all to see. He didn't do so because he doesn't like your face, but because you made ridiculous arguments and you were getting personal with several netters when unable to defend your positions. Instead of attempting to persuade your peers to YOUR convictions you embarked on personal attacks. You brought it upon yourself. A public insult in itself doesn't mean much. One has to look at the source and the context. If people I respect insult me wilfully, I would be hurt, but those whom I don't respect can't hurt me. An implicit insult embedded in a heated argument isn't something to take to heart either. I get insulted by a lot of netters. Sometimes they respond with what they consider their ultimate weapons -- mud slinging, or using 'gaalis'. Badan Barphukan and Tapan Kalita are good examples.( BTW, not that it matters, but we happen to know who they really are/is, regardless of how YOU attempt to portray them/him -- as innocent youth ).But I don't get on a personal crusade against them, because I am NOT hurt and because I understand what causes them to do that: an inability to articulate their opposition to my arguments. What I am curious about is YOUR obsessions. I KNOW for a fact that a good many other netters are too. The only explanation so far is your past track record, with other netters.
