The Community Development Forum (an  NGO constituted  by the students  of CIC-Dhakuakhana) is the functionary behind the pretty huge project. They are planning to develop a marketing channel on  various commodities found locally through the Internet. Among these  commodities “Dhekir Chaul” is one of them. They are already flooded with orders and enquiries soon after the news about the project published in the leading Assamese  daily “Asomiya Pratidin”.  The forum plans to procure  the commodities from the local farmers (in case of rice, which is free from chemical fertilizer and pesticides) and with these  eco-friendly packaging , they will entertain the orders received  through  e-mail.  Initially these orders are received through e-mail. The entire process will be done through the volunteer of Community Forum. The portal on  e-marketing is under development . Later  it is expected to develop into  fully secured online transaction using credit card facility . Apart from rice,  they are planning to sell paintings made by local studnets.  Later on they will introduce  more products for commercialization such as “Muga & Pat Suta”

The forum aimed to  promote E-Commerce in the region and the well-being of  the area in the IT sector under the aegis of CIC Dhakuakhana  with support from National Informatics Centre and the  District Administration, Lakhimpur.
