My reading Brahma did not create Universe, but contributed to life cycle creation (also he had sex with one of his daughters).
The birth of Brahma is mentioned at a few places in Veda, e.g., in Aruna Prashna in the Taittiriya Aranyaka of the Krishna Yajur Veda for one, in a very short form though. He was born on Earth at the end of Water age, i.e., Universe existed prior to his birth - born with one head transposed much later for reasons.
Rudra is what is Shiva!
One needs very strong word power in Sanskrit to explore Vedic scriptures. Most translated versions are crap (similar like Kamrupi �Barman� turns �Brahmin� in Chinese). e.g., try make out from following on where Brahma and Rudra are showering flowers.
brahma-rudrangiro-mukhyah sarve visva-srjo vibhum |
idire vitathair mantrais tal-lingaih puspa-varṣinah || 27
And in the following, try to make out to whom they all (including rudra) are beholding in wonder
rudraditya vasavo ye ca sadhya visve svinau marutas cosmapas ca |
gandharva-yakṣasura-siddha-saagha vīksante tvam vismitas caiva sarve || 22

Why should I be upset? I laugh! Just needs to find right goddess and god, I think Sridevi Idol is a fit for Barua for Mahanta am researching, �
