Pan-Indians ready to take on the world
by Asad Latif <<<

The cases of exogamy among Indians are few and far between,a happening that is not commonplace in the dog-eat-dog  pan-Indian culture. The present culture of the country largely relates to the respective religions and the predominant one belonging to the Hindu religion. But there are definite variations from region to region mainly due to local practices, thinking and interpretation of religious tenets by different thinkers.Unless the myopia of neighborhood  nationalism is wiped out,the Pan-Indian culture is less likely to thrive. The state of Meghalaya is a case in point, where only tribes native to the state will be permitted to purchase and sell land.It seeks to classify one set of tribals as more native than others. In what substantial sense is a Naga tribal in Shillong to be considered different from his Khasi neighbors ?
