Comast is producing a documentary film on National Spelling Bee
Championship. About a month ago Rupak (Rick) Kumar Bhuyan became the runners
up in the Comcast Regional Spelling Bee Championship.
Incidentally last year Rick was also elected and is the current
President of National Junior Honor Society, William Davis Chapter, NJ.
First through an intermediary and then the Producer from Comcast
TV directly discussed with Kedar & Ruprekha Bhuyan, concerning the
possibility of Rick being featured in a television documentary about the
Spelling Bee.
Right now it is in an idea stage. The script is not written yet. It
goes something like this-
Rick will go head on with the host of the show in a mock spelling
bee contest. In between there will be lot of general discussions with Rick.
They have not yet decided whether to invite some other kids also. First the
script needs to be written.
If everything proceeds as expected, we will soon see an Assamese
face in American TV.
