The Kukis in the North East will observe 13th September as Black Day under the
aegis of Kuki Inpi the apex body decision making of the Kuki community as mark
of remembrance of their lost dear ones who were mercilessly killed by NSCN(IM)
genocidal war towards the defenceless Kukis from 1991-1995 in which on this day
13th September,1992 the NSCN(IM) cadres had killed 95 innocents Kukis including
infant at Gelnel and Joupi villages in Tamenglong District of Manipur under the
banner"Nagaland For Christ"
On this day in every Kuki house there will be hoisting of Black Flag as mark of
mourning for the departed innocents killed for the shake of integrity in which
the majority Meetei never thinks as those innoicent Kukis killed by NSCN(IM)
for state integrity but shouted only those killed by secutiry forces in their
campaign against the NSCN(IM) Balkanisation on 18th June,2001 in which only 18
persons lost their lives as died for state integrity and even declared 18th
June every year as State Integrity Day from 2002 onwards.
This is the step motherly treatment that the majority Meetei still practices
towards the Kukis in Manipur.
Historical evidence has shown that the Kukis rethrone Maharaja Chandra Kirti
Singh as King of Manipur after the Kuki Armies recued Manipur King Chandra
Kirti Singh from the captivity of Burmese King known as Kamhao Suhte in the
year 1885.
But the bonfires of all the ancient Meetei literature by Vainavism cult Shanti
Gosai Das in which to days Meetei remember as Puja Meithaba still could not
fill up the gap between the Tribals and the Meetei relation so far in Manipur.
